Investigating the influence of surrounding soil properties on leakage discharge from cracks in polyethylene pipes

Numerous factors affect the amount of leakage from pipes, e.g. inside pressure, type pipe failure, soil around pipe, etc. Few researches have been done on effect environment discharge. In present study, pipes in presence different soils is experimentally investigated. Leakage a cracked polyethylene was simulated various with properties laboratory setup. Leakage- pressure relationships were obtained according to fixed and variable area discharge theory. By quantifying characteristics, relationship between leakage- coefficients (m Cd) parameters obtained.
